Queen Anne

Anne, Queen Regent of Anglia

Home: Anglia City.

Died: 2437 in Anglia City

How we met Her: Faolan first met Queen Anne when she pulled back a curtain to witness him murdering the guard on the room in which she was imprisoned.

Queen Anne is the mother of King Grey I, the Boy King of Anglia, and the widow of King John I, who may not have been Grey's father. Queen Anne is a woman of incredible beauty, and she is known to ride with expert skill.

__The Marginalization of Queen Anne__

John had been attempting to centralize governmental authority, and many of the nobles had begun to chafe under his rule. After King John's death, Anglia roiled with political uncertainty. A majority of the powerful nobles, unwilling to follow a woman or a three year-old boy, threw their support behind Lord Evans. The Evans Alliance is said to have forced the Queen Mother to accept Evans as Regent. Lord Evans eventually imprisoned Queen Anne and the Boy King in the servants' quarters of Lord Green's manor at Greensburg.

__Queen Anne's Escape__

Queen Anne and Little King Grey escaped from Lord Green's manor with the aid of Ahnah, Tanner, and Faolan. The royals were entrusted to a dozen of Lord Gahanna's men, who were to spirit them to safety. Others involved in the plot include Trooper Walsh (an engineer in Lord Green's service), Trooper Brown (a soldier in Lord Green's service), and Trixie (a ginger-haired whore known to associate with Lord Gahanna's men).

Queen Anne is also thought to be the inspiration behind the songs "Pretty, Pretty Annie" and "The Rose I Stole", though the source for this rumor is questionable at best.

New Developments

During the second trip to Bexar, Ahnah, stunned at the horrible situation and her imminent death, revealed that Miss Macon was her grandmother, and that Queen Anne was her mother. It turns out that John Brown is Anne's father, and that Anne was raised by Lord Wayne as his daughter. Anne was "sent away" when she became pregnant by an 'as of yet unknown' man, the child (Ahnah) was raised by Miss Macon. Anne does not know what has become of her daughter.

Through Lady Blue's readings, Faolan has learned that Anne's charm is magically enhanced. Faolan's experimentation with his ring of magic resistance shows that Anne's beauty does not seem to be magically enhanced, however.

According to the readings of Esmer, "The Queen is not royal".

Tragic Death of Queen Anne

Due to the evil plotting of Aleksai, Anne fell from her horse, died, and her essence was spirited away to the Underworld. Faolan, nearly insane with grief, led a rescue with Tanner, Petra, Arabella, and Jake Macon, the brother Anne had never met. Ultimately, Anne's essence was freed, and taken to the Half-Light, and Aleksai died under Faolan's blade.

Faolan then walked with Anne through the Half-Light for 21 days, until he was able to introduce her to her mother, Miss Macon. Anne there also met her daughter, Ahnah, and began to learn the things that she would need to know to prosper in the Half-Light.
