Purging Sunshine of Redlegs

Previously, Our Heroes had learned that Redlegs were building a fort somewhere near Sunshine, and from this point had been raiding Frontier settlements.

Fort Necessity was the Royal Crown Guard name for an outpost outside of Sunshine. The Redlegs had built this fort, along with a dock, as part of their plan to hem in frontier expansion to the West. It consisted of a simple wooden palisade on a hill, with a few buildings within it. The Redlegs stationed there raided in and about Ralph and Sunshine, stealing money and food.

The Couriers did battle with Redlegs from Fort Necessity on their trip to Bexar, in the process saving Sunshine's town treasury. They deemed destruction of the force from Fort Necessity to be of vital importance, and rode forth from Brown's Ferry to destroy it.

Although taken off-guard by a traitorous ambush on the outskirts of Sunshine, Faolan, Ahnah, Klug, and Tanner were able to fight off the Redlegs. They then rallied forces from Sunshine and set up a siege. Close combat heroics from Faolan and Tanner's wonder weapon, the Copperhead, brought the fort under Frontier control. The fort's entire complement was put to the sword, and Faolan took the sign back to the Green Dragon Inn.
