Matthew, Lord Davies

Matthew Davies is the grandfather of King Grey I and the father of late King John I.

Matthew renounced his claim to succession years ago after a scandal that involved him taking a servant as his bride after his first wife's death. He had never expected to come close to the throne, and had thought little of what he was sacrificing. Suprisingly, his elder brother died without a living heir (after a few of them had died). This shifted the line of succession to Matthew's sons and the crown ended up passing to his only son of noble blood, John. Unfortunately for all, John hadn't been groomed to the throne, and became a disastrously poor king.

Lord Davies now serves as a prominent advisor (some say Co-Regent) to his grandson.
