The Great Western Bexar Trip
The Sons of Bexar earned their nickname on a storied journey out west. They were approached by Jake, and hired to escort Princess Bexar and her bodyguard, Samson, on their return trip from Brown's Ferry to Bexar.
The trip west was highlighted by a stop in Ralph, a small trading outpost on the bank of one of the branches of the Great River. While there, Faolan managed to get himself mugged by a pair of cheap whores, and was fortunately rescued by Zen.
Other noteworthy events included a run-in with what appears to have been two seperate groups of Redlegs. The first occured when a group of ten (visible) Redlegs stopped the party at a 'checkpoint', which was really little more than extortion. One of the Redlegs seemed to despise Bexari and was anxious for a fight, but Faolan rode ahead and managed to talk the incident down, with the aid of the bribe money that Samson had provided. That night, our heroes' camp was attacked by a large group of Redlegs, which included archers. The fight started off well, as Faolan was able to charge one of the Redlegs, bash him to the ground, and take out another in rapid succession. Tanner, Zen, and Princess Bexar formed up to make a perimeter, while Samson charged the pair of archers closest to the Princess. Tanner managed to hack down foemen, even as his body was pierced with arrows, and he valiantly defended the Princess. Zen finally cast 'Dirt Hammers' that were witnessed doing damage by Tanner and Faolan, so they now believe him when he claims to be 'more than just a midwife'.
The fight went on with our heroes gradually besting the Redlegs, though many wounds were taken. One of the Redlegs (the one who looked a lot like 'Hedge') managed to break through and wrestle Princess Bexar to the ground. The fool came to regret it, as she used her Bexari fighting knives to great effect.
As the lone survivor fled, Faolan attempted to pursue him on horseback, but managed to get himself knocked unconsious by a low-hanging branch. Samson ensured that each of the fallen attackers were dead, and his knives dripped with gore.
Fortunately, Princess Bexar is an excellent healer, and she soothed the hurts of her defenders, and the next day we were on our way.
