Episode One

March 24, 2443

From the town of Barrett's Crossroads, players were recruited by Jake to travel with him to investigate an attack on a farm 2 miles south of town. After coming upon the scene of carnage, several large, monstrous wolves attacked us. As the farm's family all seemed to have been mauled by wild beasts, we assumed that these wolves had attacked and killed them. During the fighting, Zen, saw "Molly Hatchet" and two others beings (Half-Men), standing within a mass of utter blackness, into which they subsequently disappeared. The blackness dissipated. The party returned to Barrett's Crossroad.

April 11, 2443

The Party hired on with the caravan of a corpulent Gent trader named Pasha. They were to assist Jake in guarding Pasha and his goods as they were traveling from up the Tarstone Road, from Barrett's Crossroads through Ridgeville, Cobb's End, Helena, and then on into Brown's Ferry before crossing into North Anglia, at which point we would leave his employ.

April 14, 2432: On the Road from Barrett's Crossroads towards Ridgeville

The planned trip from Barrett's Crossroad to Ridgeville was to last 7 days. During this journey, on April 14, the Party ran into some of the religious Pilgrims from the North, as they wandered south spreading their message of.....whatever it is that they believe. The next day, we were ambushed by some pitiful Reavers. Despite Faolan's best efforts to persuade them to surrender, they attacked, much to their misfortune. Once the fighting had ended, the Party allowed the lone survivor to escape.

April 21, 2432

The Party was ambushed two days north of Ridgeville by Molly Hatchet and a different sort of minion - Half-Men. The Party fought them off, and the leader disappeared into the 'Underworld Gate' through which they had come.

In this conflict, Molly Hatchet used his magic to set up walls of darkness, and cast 'magic stuff' at Mateo, our dumb-ass archer friend. Jake really saved our asses as the horde of half-men surrounded us and nearly killed Crusty the Cook. Faolan did very poorly in this battle, and considered giving up the sword for a lute or somesuch.

June 14, 2443

Two days north of Cobb's End the Party investigated a column of smoke, coming from the vicinity of a farm according to Jake. The Party (w/o Jake) ambushed seven Redlegs who were digging up the farm (after killing the inhabitants & burning the barn), apparently looking for gold. The fight was highlighted by Mateo's desire & ability to fill Redlegs full of arrows and Tanner killing two Redlegs with little effort. Faolan decapitated a Redleg, and later, reasonably, claimed his undamaged chainmail. All seven Redleg horses were claimed and the party destroyed or diguised the rest of the Redleg gear.

The next day the Party saw more Pilgrims.

June 22nd, 2243

Faolan becomes involved with the Frontier Militia through the Helena Guild.

Jake introduces Faolan and Daren to Lady Blue, a madame & fortune teller. They partake in a hallucinogenic green liquor and Daren learns that he has a 'cloud of darkness' hovering over him.

August 8, 2243

Two days north of Helena, on the Tarstone Road, the Caravan and the Party are stopped by a Redleg Patrol twice their number. The Gent, (Jake's nickname for Adhevan) barely manages to resist starting trouble. A minor northern noble, he is opposed on principle to King John's tactics in general and the Redlegs in particular. Faolan somehow manages to stop Mateo (who has irrational bloodlust for Redlegs) from starting a deadly confrontation. A bribe from Pasha, the caravan's owner, delivered by Jake to the Redleg Captain, cleared the way for the caravan to pass.

August 8, 2243

August 11, 2243

The Caravan came upon a large black flat stone that had been placed in the middle of the Tarstone Road five days north of Helena. Daren & Zen determined it was a summoner's stone. As the Caravan tried to bypass the stone Molly Hatchet and five new minions - Ape-Men appeared. During the fight Jake was drawn into the 'Underworld Gate' through which they'd come. He eventually returned, with all white hair. With loss of only some damaged cargo from spooked horses & overturned wagons, the Caravan reached Brown's Ferry.
